Netflix show The Crown will recreate Kate Middleton’s iconic fashion show moment that saw her strut down the catwalk in a see-through dress whilst Prince William watched on from the side lines.

Whilst studying at St Andrews in 2002, Kate walked the runway in the Don't Walk student charity fashion show wearing a see through lace slip dress with blue edging, over a matching black bandeau and knickers set.

The outfit cost just £30 to make and was designed by fellow student Charlotte Todd for part of her academic project titled "The Art of Seduction" and later sold for £78,000.

A young Prince William who was close friends with Kate paid £200 for a table that put him on the front row for the show and according to the Daily Mail “watched his future wife open-mouthed”.

The couple began dating in 2001 after meeting at the University. During a BBC interview years later with Tom Bradby, the Prince revealed he attempted to impress his then girlfriend with an “amazingly fancy dinner”.

Season Six will be the final series of the show and will follow the lives of the Royal family from 1997 to 2005. It will include the tragic death of Princess Diana, and feature actors Ed Mcvey and Meg Bellamy as Prince William and Kate Middleton during the early days of their relationship.

The series will also see Sienna Miller’s partner Oli Green star as Kate Middleton’s boyfriend. He plays fourth-year law student Rupert Finch, who dated the now Princess of Wales for a year at St Andrew's University.

There is no confirmed release date for The Crown, but previous seasons have been released in November, so we could expect it on our screens at a similar time this year.
