Beyoncé certainly brought her fashion A-game for a date night with husband Jay-Z to private club Oswald’s. She shared photographs of herself and Jay-Z on her Instagram and no caption was required! Beyoncé was dressed in a striped blazer, high waisted shorts, knee-high boots and a black bralette.

Fans were quick to comment on the photographs that the couple shared. One simply said: “The Queen” whilst another said: “Literally ageing backwards.”

Oswald’s, a very exclusive private members club, is owned by Robin Birley, who is the son of the late Mark Birley, who founded the iconic Annabel’s in London. Annabel’s was named after Annabel Goldsmith (the mother of Jemima Khan, Zac Goldsmith and Ben Goldsmith). The likes of David and Victoria Beckham, as well as Boris and Carrie Johnson are all fans of the club.

The night before the coronation, the likes of  Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank, Zara and Mike Tindall headed to private club Oswald’s. They were also joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

So, if you think you can head to Oswald’s website and find out more about it, you would be wrong. The website simply has an illustration of the club and very basic information such as the club’s address, a membership’s enquiry telephone number and that’s about it!

According to Tatler, “Known as the ‘King of clubs,’ the 64-year old also owns the fashionable Mayfair members’ club 5 Hertford Street. Oswald’s is his newest jewel. It opened in 2018, and this time it’s personal: a self-portrait of his grandfather Sir Oswald, a royal portraitist after whom the club is named, hangs behind the reception desk.”

For those of you who think 5 Hertford Street sounds familiar, you would be right. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their first date there. However, on this occasion Prince Harry did not decide to join his family at Oswald’s and obviously preferred a private night away from the cameras!
