After laughing at the clip, Piers Morgan said: “I like Holly Willoughby, she’s a good friend of mine. I’ve known Phillip Schofield a long time. I like Holly, and she’s in an impossible position. She had to come back contractually and do what she did!”

According to Metro, “Morgan remarked on the ‘speed’ at which people in the media can go from being perceived as ‘heroes’ to being perceived in a more negative light, ‘where charities are falling over themselves to use them, to people they think are their friends at work.”

After Phillip Schofield was interviewed by Amol Rajan on the BBC, Piers Morgan tweeted the following four days ago: “Unless Phillip Schofield’s ex-lover contradicts his version of events to @The Sun & BBC, then it’s time to stop this relentless persecution of a guy who’s lost everything and looks right on the edge to me. He doesn’t seem to have committed any crime, and he’s not a Govt minister.

During his show, Piers Morgan. elaborated further when it came to his thoughts about Phillip Schofield. The Independent reported that “He urged people to lay off the host, while suggesting he ‘probably shouldn’t’ have compared himself to Caroline Flack.”
