Whilst watching Harry-The Interview with Tom Bradby last night, I found it impossible (just like it was in the Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries) to not think if Harry had just received the counselling/therapy he so desperately needed after the death of his mother, he and the royal family would not be in the predicament that they are today.

Harry made reference twice to his age. “38 years, 38 years of having my story told by so many different people with an international spin and distortion,” he said towards the start of his interview with Tom Bradby.

However, all I could see was not a 38 year old man, but a 12 year old boy in the clothes of a 38 year old man. The trauma he suffered from losing his mother so tragically and at such a tender age was etched in every expression of his face.

There were many pivotal moments during the interview, but one that cannot be ignored is when Harry spoke about the death of his mother and his father coming into his bedroom at Balmoral to tell him the news.

The words “I don’t want history to repeat itself. I do not want to be a single dad and I certainly don’t want my children to have a life without a mother or a father,” seemed somewhat shocking at the time.

However, on closer reflection, it is not really shocking at all as it is all part of Harry’s deep rooted trauma of losing his mother in such a horrific way and the real ‘fear’ in his mind that it could happen to either him or his wife Meghan.

Harry also spoke about how the ‘Fab Four’ (William, Kate, Harry and Meghan) never existed and said “it was something the press created.” He also revealed that he “always hoped that the four of us would get on, but very quickly it became Meghan Vs Kate.”

The ‘Fab Four’ were seen as really coming into their own when Harry, Meghan, William and Kate came together to launch an NHS resource to provide advice for people struggling with stress, depression or poor sleep.

When Meghan and Harry were invited by Kate and William to attend a walkabout around Windsor after the death of the Queen, the world was hoping that this was a ‘fab four’ reunion.

However, as Harry clearly pointed out in the interview, this was not a reunion of the ‘fab four’ as the four it would seem were never harmonious from the beginning.
