Although Prince Harry’s memoir Spare isn’t ‘officially’ released until January 10, more shocking revelations are coming out daily if not hourly. Some of the latest revelations involve Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

In the book, Prince Harry reflects on a reported incident that took place in the lead up to his wedding in May 2018. During the incident between Meghan and Kate, Meghan allegedly told Kate that she must be suffering from 'baby brain'. Kate was pregnant at the time with Prince Louis and gave birth to him a month before the wedding.

Meghan was then reportedly reprimanded over the “baby brain” comment and was allegedly told that she wasn’t close enough to Kate to make this comment. This then resulted in the Duchess of Sussex becoming offended after the ‘telling off.’

Just like Prince Harry’s current fractious relationship with his brother, it would appear that things have not been amicable between Kate and Meghan for some time. When Meghan and Harry were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, she was asked about the incident that the tabloids had reported where Meghan was alleged to have made Kate cry in the lead up to the wedding.

Meghan told Oprah that the “reverse happened.” She then went on to say that “it was a really hard week of the wedding and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologised, and she brought me flowers, and not apologising.” Meghan concluded the topic by saying, “She did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, to just take accountability for it.”

Although things are now 'difficult' between Meghan and Kate, it would seem that this was not always the case. On the contrary, Kate was reportedly very keen on meeting Meghan when she and Harry started dating as both she and Prince William were huge fans of the show Suits (which Meghan starred in).

When the couple got engaged, Kate (along with William) issued a positive reaction to it. “It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together. William and I are absolutely thrilled.”

At the start, Kate and Meghan genuinely seemed to enjoy each other’s company. When they were together for the inaugural Royal Foundation in London, for ‘Making A Difference Together,’ on February 28, 2018, the pair were spotted laughing together.

The term ‘The Fab Four’ had been coined to describe Kate and William and Meghan and Harry and Harry spoke about this at the time. “I think it’s really good that we’ve got four different personalities.”

Kate and Meghan then made their first solo appearance together at Wimbledon on July 14, 2018 and ‘The Fab Four’ were together again at a Remembrance Day ceremony on November 10, 2018.

However, it would seem things soon started to take a turn for the worse. When Meghan and Harry decided to spend Christmas with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in December 2019, the rumour mill went into overdrive that things were not right between Meghan/Harry and Kate/William.

In 2020, Meghan and Harry announced that they would be stepping back from their senior royal roles and it was reported that both Kate and William were shocked and blindsided by their decision.

Although Meghan and Kate came together again after the Queen’s funeral at the Windsor walkabout, this was seen as more of an attempt by the Royal family for the foursome to put on a ‘united front.’

Just as it appears there is no way back for Prince Harry and Prince William, it would seem that the same thing can be said for Kate and Meghan.
