Princess Diana’s private letters that she wrote to friends are set to fetch £90,000 at auction. The 32 letters and cards for sale, were written from late 1995 to 1996 to her friends Susie and Tarek Kassem.

In the letters and cards, Princess Diana touches on topics such as her phone being bugged and about the strain of her divorce from King Charles (the then Prince of Wales). “It’s too difficult sometimes to keep one’s head up and today I am on my knees and just longing for this divorce to go through as the possible cost is tremendous,” is one of the extracts from the letters.

Susie and Tarek Kassem are reportedly selling the cards and letters because ‘owning the documents is a great responsibility.’ The letters are set to be sold individually and the proceeds are reportedly going to be donated to the charities that the late Princess supported.

These are not the only letters and personal items of the late Princess that have sold recently.

In 2021 a letter that Diana wrote where she called the late Queen ‘the boss’ was part of a cache of 36 notes she sent to a family friend, sold at auction for £8700.

The collection of 36 notes, which sold for a combined £82,000, belonged to a family friend of Diana’s called Roger Bramble.

In one letter, she thanked him for lunch and said: “I just hope your arrival at Westminster Abbey was before the Boss (The Queen) and if not, I expect to have been mentioned in the excuses!”

In recent days, Diana’s dress, designed by couturier Victor Edelstein, sold for more than $600,000 at auction. The final bid was five times the pre-auction estimate of $80,000 to $120,000.

Kim Kardashian also now owns a piece of Princess Diana’s wardrobe as she bought the Attallah Cross that Princess Diana had worn. It was previously owned by Naim Attallah in the 19080s, Naim was a friend of Princess Diana and had loaned it to for a few appearances.
