Here we go again… it’s another case of right place, wrong time for Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan when it pertains to Royal engagements. Or maybe because it is a Royal engagement and the pair are not “working Royals” that could be the case over reports that the Montecito-based two will not be attending a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth II.
The memorial, being held in Balmoral, is set to commemorate the first anniversary of the longest-reigning monarch in British history and King Charles III’s ascension on September 8 2023. According to The Sun, the pair did not receive an invite to the event - yet Prince Andrew has been reported to be in attendance at the service.

Alongside the aforementioned Prince Andrew, King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to lead the tributes at the Scottish estate, where Queen Elizabeth spent the last hours of her life.
Prince William and Princess Catherine have also been reported to be heading up to Scotland as part of the commemoration, but no other Royal members as of this stage have been identified as being in attendance in September.
There was hope that Harry and Meghan might make an appearance at Balmoral, as the pair will be in the Netherlands around the same time as the commemoration owing to Harry’s work with the Invictus Games, which starts September 9 2023.
But the apparent “snub” of the two might be a simple case of bad timing and logistics; however, the matter of King Charles III requesting Harry to attend Queen Elizabeth’s side during her final moments was complicated by a reported “no-Meghan” ultimatum, leaving Harry to miss paying his respects before the Queen’s death at the age of 96.
