It’s been a while, even by her own admission, but Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has confirmed that she will be making an eagerly awaited return to the United States next week. Fergie, as she’s known affectionately to fans, will be in New York to discuss her new book, A Most Intriguing Lady: A Novel.

Taking to her Instagram account, Ferguson wrote “I am thrilled to be joining Samantha Barry, fellow redhead and editor-in-chief at Glamour, at the 92nd Street Y in New York March 6th at 7PM EST. Click the link in my bio to get your tickets now!”

“As this will be my first appearance in the US in quite some time, I couldn’t be more excited to discuss my new book, A Most Intriguing Lady, which draws upon historical characters and biographical elements from my life and family lineage.”

Though at times a constant source of press ridicule during her time as a member of the Royal family, Fergie’s appeal in the United States is almost to the levels of Princess Diana - and certainly above the efforts of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently.

Despite her separation from Prince Andrew in 1996, she was still embraced by a less-than-puritanical United States, making guest appearances on a number of talk shows and television shows. Her brief run as a talk show host herself during 1998 also led to a number of networks looking to employ her as a host Stateside, with the most recent rumour back in 2011 when Oprah Winfrey was looking for personalities for her OWN network.

Though she still awaits that call, she’s managed to create a following through her series of books, with A Most Intriguing Lady, a continuation of the semi-fictional story about the Duchess’s great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott. That story first began with Fergie’s 2021 work, Her Heart For a Compass.
