Despite, missing out on an invite to the official coronation ceremony next month, Sarah Ferguson will have a VIP role at the concert that will take place the next day. The coronation concert at Windsor Castle will see Fergie attend as a ‘VIP attendee’

This comes after the Duchess of York was told she would not be attending the crowning of King Charles and Camilla at Westminster on May 6.

Some royal experts have stated that Fergie hasn’t been invited because she is not technically a member of the royal family anymore following her divorce from Prince Andrew. Although some believe that her previous conduct has led to the snub.

We take a closer look at what her role at the King’s coronation concert might entail.

The coronation concert takes place on May 7 and Fergie will reportedly be a guest of honour at the gig.

Reports say she will join ex-husband Prince Andrew and their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle - where the concert is due to be held.

There she will join 2,000 lucky ticket holders who have been chosen to attend the concert. The VIP attendees are sure to have the best view of all the action and also the opportunity to mingle amongst other high-profile celebrities and well-known faces.

Despite not technically being a part of the royal family, it is easy to suggest that the Duchess will be represented the royals at the event alongside her ex-husband.

Speaking at a New York event last month where she was promoting her new book, Sarah said: "Well I’ve decided the best thing about being British around a coronation - although I’ve never been to one - I think we should, I should set up a tea room at the bottom of the drive with bunting and cakes."

She previously told ITVs Loose Women: “I will be having a little tea room and putting out the bunting. I love to watch it on the telly because the commentators are always good.”

In light of this, perhaps we can expect to see Fergie enjoying a picnic or indeed ensuring other guests are able to indulge in a bite to eat while at Windsor Castle.

Confirmed acts for the concert include Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Take That.
