Issacman has been part of a group of civilian astronauts to fly into orbit as part of SpaceX’s Polaris program, becoming the first person to take part in a private spacewalk in the process. The 41-year-old was first to exit the capsule, with a bodycam showing the moment he exited the SpaceX capsule in space.
The moment marks a huge milestone in space exploration, with a spacewalk considered to be one of the most dangerous activities even professional astronauts can undertake. Speaking earlier this week, Issacman said: "Whatever risk is associated with it, it is worth it."
