We may be more than six months away from season six of Netflix's The Crown landing on our TV screens, but filming is now underway giving us a glimpse of what to expect. Images have been released of filming taking place to recreate Kate Middleton meeting Prince William at St Andrews. Tapping into the Princess of Wales' sporty side, it appears The Crown will show the pair meeting for the first time while out for a jog during their time at university.

Actors Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy have been pictured filming on the set of the sixth and final series of the show - and it's clear that during the scene, William couldn't help but take a second glance back at Kate.

With this being McVey's first major production, not much is known about the 22-year-old who bears a striking resemblance to a young Prince William. However, we're certain to learn more in the lead-up to show and during media interviews around its release.

The scenes will undoubtedly give viewers a glimpse into how the couple actually met while studying at the University of St Andrews, in Scotland, where they met and first fell in love.

So, as anticipation builds, what can we expect from The Crown Season 6? PeopleWorld takes a closer look.

The show's final season will take the series from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. That means it will controversially include the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997.

Diana, Princess of Wales, will be played by Elizabeth Debicki once again and the then Prince Charles will be played by Dominic West.

Ed McVey may be playing Prince William at university, but a younger 15-year-old William will be played by Rufus Kampa. Difficult scenes here will show the young prince coming to terms with his mother's death.

According to The Mirror, Prince Harry will be played by actor Luther Ford in the sixth season of The Crown. One plot line we can expect is the 2005 incident where Harry wore a Nazi uniform to a 'native and colonial' themed party. The incident made the front pages of tabloids at the time.

Queen Elizabeth II will be played by Imelda Staunton who is known for portraying Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films.
