As Tyler Perry takes his private jet to see Harry and Meghan, is he now one of their 'closest' friends?

Tyler Perry was spotted boarding his private plane from Los Angeles over the weekend and is reported to have flown to Montecito to visit his friends, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Billionaire Tyler Perry is said to be very good friends with the couple and is godfather to their daughter, Lilbet.

Tyler Perry famously lent Prince Harry and Meghan Markle his private jet when they secretly left Canada’s Vancouver Island in March 2020 to temporarily move into his mansion in Beverly Hills.

In their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Harry explained that they had not even met Tyler when he offered them the use of his home. “This is the current situation, thanks to another amazing friend, whom we’ve never met, but who believes in us and wants to help,” Harry said. 

According to Private-Jets.pro, Tyler Perry owns a Gulfstream 111 that is reported to cost 4125 million. “They have furnished the interior of the jet beautifully, with a 42-inch LED screen, IPod docking stations, a satellite TV, and theatre lighting with electronically controlled window shades, multiple Blu-ray players and VIP bedrooms en-suite bathroom,” the article reads.

Since Meghan and Harry stayed at the home of Tyler Perry, they have remained close to one another and he was asked to be godfather to their daughter Lilibet.

In the sixth episode of Harry & Meghan, Tyler revealed how he reacted when he was asked to be a godparent to the couple’s daughter Lilibet. “Whoa, I had to take a minute to take that in,” he said. 

Unlike with Archie, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not hold a public christening for Lilibet. This worked out well for Tyler Perry as he explained in the Netflix documentary that he wasn’t keen to be a part of a public ceremony. “And I got off the phone, took it all in and then called them back. I go, ‘Uh hold on a second. Does this mean we got to go over there and do all of that in the church with (the royal family) and figure all that out? I don’t want to do that.”

It seemed a fitting choice for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to have asked Tyler Perry to be LIlibet’s godfather as he has played such a big part in helping them in their new life in the States. Their son Archie is also believed to have taken his first steps at his house.

Although it is no surprise that Tyler Perry has recently paid a visit to see Meghan and Harry, it might be an indication that he could be offering them advice following the news that they have been officially invited via email to the coronation of King Charles.
