Although the Labour party seemingly did very well in the recent local elections where Sir Keir Starmer’s side received more votes than that of Rishi Sunak’s Conservative party, some ‘incredibly serious’ allegations have been made regarding one of the Labour MPs.

Following claims of ‘completely unacceptable behaviour’ coming to light surrounding the Swansea West politician Geraint Davies, the 63-year-old has now been suspended from the party pending an investigation.

According to news website Politico which reportedly spoke to 20 people who worked with Mr Davies, he has been accused of subjecting younger colleagues to unwanted sexual attention, to which the MP dismissed.

He said: “None of them, as far as I know, has been lodged as complaints with the Labour Party or Parliament. If I have inadvertently caused offence to anyone, then I am naturally sorry.”

As the investigation begins into the allegations that go back five years, PeopleWorld takes a look at Mr Davies’ family and wife.

Mr Geraint Davies married Dr Vanessa Catherine Fry on 7 September 1991 and the couple, who live in Swansea where Davies remains as a member of parliament, share two daughters.

He grew up in Cardiff where he attended Llanishen High School before studying Mathematics then Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Jesus College, Oxford.
