At present, there is only one Keir that everyone talks and writes about when it comes to Labour, but that could be about to change! If Labour take control of Selby and Ainsty on Thursday 20 July 2023 for the first time in 13 years, Keir Mather at 25 will become the UK’s youngest MP.

Sky News reports that “If the opposition is successful it would set a record for the size of a majority overturned-at 20,000 by Labour at a by-election.” Sky News goes on to say that “The Selby seat was left vacant by the resignation of MP Nigel Adams, an ultra-Boris Johnson loyalist who resigned a day after he was snubbed for a peerage.”
