Shortly after the Privileges Committee, headed by MP Harriet Harman, found that Boris Johnson knowingly misled parliament on several occasions surrounding the partygate scandal during the pandemic, the committee named allies of the former prime minister who waged campaigns to undermine the investigation.
Boris Johnson sensationally resigned as an MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip after receiving the damning report a few days before its publication before slamming the Privileges Committee as a 'kangaroo court'.

The committee suggested that Nadine, who recently stepped down as an MP, and the other allies of Boris Johnson had launched ‘vociferous attacks’ and ‘sustained interference’ to try to delay the report and findings on Boris lying to parliament.
Nadine Dorries has been named four times while Mark Jenkinson, Michael Fabricant, Brendan Clarke-Smith, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Andrea Jenkyns, Priti Patel and Zac Goldsmith are all accused of applying ‘improper pressure’.
