Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage has launched his new GB News slot, with the first hour-long primetime show, called Farage, airing on Monday (19 July).

The controversial figure will present the show on the news channel every evening from 7-8pm from Monday to Thursday.

In a video announcing the news, Mr Farage said: “Since politics I have done a fair bit of broadcasting and broadcasting matters. It really, really does.

The news channel has had a rocky start since its launch, with technical glitches and a recent drop in viewers.

But what did viewers think of the first episode of the Farage show?

The first show gained mixed reactions, but many viewers enjoyed Farage’s debut.

One viewer said: “Well done on your first show Nigel, the show has a great look plus the content I have been waiting for, not watched another news channel since GB news started. Yes there have been a few startup glitches but I feel a corner has been turned.”

“Great show this evening on @GBNEWS,” another viewer commented.

Another viewer said: “Enjoyed that , well done Nigel a very entertaining hour.”

However, one viewer said: “Farage needs to be less loquacious.”

When Mr Farage tweeted that he was live on GBNews with his first show, one person replied saying “No-one is watching Nige.”

But another viewer jumped to his defence, replying: “I am. It's actually pretty good.”
