The State Opening of Parliament and Queen’s Speech as it happened

The Queen delivered this year’s Queen’s Speech, laying out the government’s agenda for the next year, from the House of Lords earlier today. It featured a bumper list of legislation and bills, though there were still some notable absences, particularly on adult social care.
The leader of the opposition Keir Starmer said the Queen’s Speech did not go nearly far enough to rebuild after the pandemic, while the prime minister insisted that it would give him “the essential tools” to help the United Kingdom reach its potential. Tyreece John-Jules is fouled five yards outside the Huddersfield box and Pool have a free-kick in a great shooting position.
All came after Shayne Lavery had won the ball back high up the pitch.
5 - Great atmosphere
Richard Keogh is given a few boos from the Huddersfield fans as he shepherds the ball out of play. The defender spent time with the Terriers in the Championship last season.
Both sides are making plenty of noise here early on.
3 - Even start
Both sides are looking to get on the ball in the early stages, but nothing noteworthy has happened so far.

1 - Concern
Tyreece John-Jules takes a knock to his left foot with the first action of the game, but it appears he’s able to hobble on and continue.
The Arsenal man is playing on the left wing this evening, with Shayne Lavery partnering Jerry Yates in attack.

A pleasant surprise
Gary Madine has surprisingly been named on the bench for Blackpool for tonight’s game against Huddersfield.
The striker had initially been left out of Blackpool’s 25-man squad that they had to recently submit to the EFL following the closure of the transfer window.
But clubs are now able to register injured players at any time, as long as it’s 24 hours before a fixture.
Madine has endured a nightmare 2021, having gone under the knife during the summer after a niggling groin injury plagued the second half of his 2020/21 season.
But the striker has recently returned to training and is now fit enough to be named in Blackpool’s 18-man squad.
