With spring now here, will the sunshine continue into this week or will it start to get colder in the run-up to Easter? Will it stay dry for the next few days or should we expect showers?

Wednesday and Thursday forecast

UK Outlook (Wednesday and Thursday): Wednesday will be cloudy with drizzle tracking south-eastwards across England and Wales but drier and brighter in the north-west. Cloudy with rain for Northern Ireland and Scotland. Bright spells and variable amounts of cloud on Thursday with scattered showers which will merge into longer spells of rain.

Tuesday night: A largely dry evening with late spells of sunshine however it will be overcast and cloudy across northern and western areas with outbreaks of rain. Overnight, rain will track south-eastwards across the country but will turn increasingly light and patchy to reach parts of Wales and England by dawn.

Tuesday: A chilly start. It will then be dry with spells of spring sunshine, however variable amounts of cloud cover will build during the day. There will be some drizzle and light rain for western areas.

Winds freshening for all areas and rain will spread into Northern Ireland and western Scotland later.
