Ferrari wrecked after smashing into safety barrier to avoid merging SUV in China
This is the moment a Ferrari slams into a roadside safety barrier and throws up sparks as it slides to a halt after trying to avoid an SUV that was merging into its lane.
The collision took place in the Huqiu District of the city of Suzhou, in China's Jiangsu province, on January 19.
Dashcam footage from a car behind it shows the Ferrari driving on an elevated roadway as cars merged from a slip road moments before the incident. The video showed the supercar braking and then losing control on the icy road while trying to dodge one of the merging cars.
The Ferrari then strikes the roadside barrier and sends sparks flying as it grinds against the tarmac. Its front part is left visibly destroyed, although the exact extent of the damages is currently unclear.
Local traffic police said the incident was a single-vehicle traffic accident and confirmed that no one was injured. Authorities said Suzhou experienced sleet and light snowfall on the day of the crash, with meteorological officials warning of icy conditions across much of Jiangsu province.
