Pink supermoon pictures: Stunning celestial event brightens night skies around the world

The celestial event happened overnight and was at its biggest and brightest in the UK at around 4.30am.

A stunning supermoon has brightened the night skies across the world - from Somerset to the Champs-Elysees.

The full moon in April is also known as the “pink moon” as it is named after pink flowers, known as phlox, which bloom in the springtime.

However, there was no noticeable difference in colour, as the name might suggest.

The celestial event happened overnight and was at its biggest and brightest at around 4.30am in the UK.
