When is We Are Lady Parts on TV?

The six-part sitcom series We Are Lady Parts began on Channel 4 at 10pm on Thursday 20th May 2021.

Episodes will air weekly at 10pm and all six episodes will be available for catch up on All4.

What is We Are Lady Parts about?

Created and directed by Nida Manzoor, We Are Lady Parts is a new sitcom about a Muslim all-female punk band and their search for a new guitarist.

A synopsis of the series shares: "Lady Parts’ fierce and enigmatic frontwoman Saira sees something in Amina that the others can't see. When Saira discovers Amina fancies Ahsan, fellow band member and taxi-driving drummer Ayesha’s dreamboat brother, she uses this as leverage by offering to hook them both up on a date, but only if Amina agrees to join the band.

"Cartoon-drawing bassist and backing vocalist Bisma and Momtaz, the band’s wheeler-dealer band manager, are not convinced that Amina is right for their band. Amina has never, ever met girls like this before and she’s soon swept up in their joyful, anarchic energy and punk spirit.

"But she becomes torn and caught up between two different worlds – that of her more strait-laced uni friends led by her formidable bestie Noor and the world of Lady Parts. Will she be the key to the band’s success? And - will she finally find a husband?"

Who’s in the We Are Lady Parts cast?

Anjana Vasan as Anima Hussain

Anjana Vasan plays the shy would-be-good lead guitarist for the band. However, she has a common problem with bad nerves, often leading to her vomiting onstage. Vasan can be recognised for her roles in Call the Midwife and Sex Education.

Sarah Impey as Saira

Playing the frontwoman of Lady Part is Sarah Impet. Saira was a rebel at school, getting expelled for selling off school furniture. Impey has starred in the film Halcyon Heights.

Juliette Motamed as Ayesha

Juliette Motamed plays the drummer in Lady Parts, Ayesha. Motamed is a newcomer, with We Are Lady Parts her first major TV role.

Faith Omole as Bisma

Bisma is the cartoon-drawing bassist and backing vocalist of Lady Parts. Omole has appeared in ITV’s Endeavour, which was the long-running Inspector Morse prequel.

Lucie Shorthouse as Momtaz

Lucie Shorthouse stars as Montaz, Lady Part’s wheeler-dealer band manager. Shorthouse was a series regular on Bulletproof, and has appeared in Line of Duty.
