Dallas Cowboys are America's most in-demand sports jerseys

New research has revealed America's most in-demand sports jerseys.
The study by Pulsz.com looked at Google search data for each month between July 2024 and June 2025 for 40 jersey-related terms including "[team] jersey", "[team] jersey sale", and "[team] alternate jersey". Researchers analyzed search data for team jerseys across major sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS.
The Dallas Cowboys lead the jersey popularity contest by a significant margin. Their 166,188 monthly searches put them more than 22,000 searches ahead of the second-place team. It was also the most popular jersey in seven states across the US, including North Carolina and Arkansas, in addition to Texas.
San Francisco 49ers jerseys rank second with 144,135 monthly searches. Eight states had their jersey as their most searched, including California, Oregon, and even Alaska.
The Detroit Lions secure third place with 125,124 monthly searches. Despite having long been known as underdogs in the NFL, they beat out historically huge sports brands like the Yankees and Lakers in search interest.
Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys claim the fourth spot with 121,133 monthly searches. They appear in the top five most searched jerseys in over 20 different states, including Alabama and South Carolina.
Breaking the NFL's dominance, the Los Angeles Dodgers rank fifth with 100,977 monthly searches, making them the most popular MLB team jersey. They also beat out local teams for searches in Arizona and Hawaii.
The Miami Dolphins take sixth place with 100,028 monthly searches. It’s the number one team for jersey searches in Florida despite the state having a number of big sporting brands.
The Baltimore Ravens follow in seventh position with 97,347 searches per month. They outrank the Commanders in areas like Delaware and Maryland which have a close proximity to Washington D.C, despite the shared markets.
The Washington Commanders rank eighth with 75,599 monthly searches. Despite their recent name change, their brand remains strong.
Rounding out the top 10 are the Chicago Bears in ninth place with 70,366 searches and the Los Angeles Lakers in tenth with 68,038 searches. The Lakers are the only NBA team to crack the top 10.
The study found the NFL dominates jersey searches across America, with eight out of the top 10 most searched jerseys belonging to football teams. The Minnesota Wild is the most popular NHL team studied, but doesn’t make the list, coming in 31st with 24,593 US searches. Additionally, Austin FC comes in as the most popular MLS team , receiving 8,620 searches.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson from Pulsz.com said, "One of the best ways to put your team on the map in American Sports is through branding, and with over 1.2 million searches combined in this top ten, team identity is a key part of sports culture. Teams have gone viral in the past for having interesting standout designs on jerseys, getting notoriety without even setting foot in the game itself. It's clear the NFL has built a strong brand over the past few decades, with eight out of the ten entries being from the league."
