The tragic Serbian butterfly monument and the little lost girl

It is dedicated to a little Serbian girl by the name of Mary Anne Kecha.
One day, during the 80s the little girl told her father, Đuro Kecha and her family that she wants to go to her grandmother's house in the woods alone. Her parents agreed, and she went.

She did and there he raped and strangled her. Lazslo Egete was caught by the police later on, and executed in Subotica and in the spot where her mother found her body a monument was built in the shape of a butterfly.
My late grandmother Mary was the kindergarten teacher to one of the Kecha's.
