Beautiful design, clever technology and gorgeous essential oil blends make the Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser Connect a luxurious treat, but is it worth £190? Plus, we explore the brand's Christmas gifts from £15.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness clearly hadn't discovered Aromatherapy Associates' Atomiser Connect.
All right, that might be a slight exaggeration, particularly when the price tag is £190, but this smart diffuser is a work of art.
It's gorgeous to look at, wonderfully clever and makes my home smell like a luxury spa. And the best bit? Once it's set up, there's virtually no effort involved.
The award-winning Atomiser Connect combines Aromatherapy Associates' gorgeous essential oil blends with smart technology designed to make enjoying home fragrances as easy as possible.
With Christmas approaching, it's the sort of luxurious gift that would win you major brownie points. Thankfully, the British wellbeing brand has also launched a collection of Christmas gift sets starting at just £15, so there are plenty of ways to enjoy a little aromatherapy indulgence.

What I love about the Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser Connect
First and foremost, I’m a big fan of the design. The Atomiser Connect is a thing of beauty. It's elegant, sophisticated and looks like a piece of contemporary art. There’s an optional ring of light at the top with a choice of six colours.
Then there's the clever technology. The Atomiser Connect uses waterless diffusion technology, so there's no need to fill a reservoir, measure out drops of essential oil or worry about topping up the water.
Instead, it works directly with the brand’s Pure Essential Oil Blends, using nebulising technology to disperse a fine mist of fragrance into the room.
One of my favourite features is the Atomiser Connect's dual-chamber design, so you can have two different essential oil blends installed at the same time and switch between fragrances at the touch of a button, without having to change bottles. Two diffusion heads are included, and replacements are available separately for £17.
It's such a clever idea, especially if you like different scents at different times of the day.
There are also adjustable fragrance intensity settings and a choice of 30-minute, one-hour or three-hour sessions. The two intensity settings are Standard and Boost, giving you control over just how much fragrance is released into the room.
Standard mode delivers a gentle burst of fragrance for 13 seconds, followed by a 47-second pause, making it ideal for maintaining a lovely scent throughout the day.
For something more powerful, Boost mode releases fragrance for four minutes before taking a six-minute break. It's a great option when you want a more intense burst of scent, perhaps before guests arrive or when you fancy turning your living room into a luxury spa.
It’s wireless, making it perfectly portable. Plus you can also control everything it does through an app on your phone. As well as controlling the fragrance settings, you can schedule sessions around your daily routine, adjust the ambient lighting and even access guided breathing exercises.
I particularly like the idea of being able to programme a favourite fragrance to greet you at a certain time of day, or combine a soothing scent with soft lighting when you're winding down in the evening.

Of course, a diffuser is only as good as the fragrance it releases, and Aromatherapy Associates has a lovely selection of Pure Essential Oil Blends.
I've been trying the Rose blend, which is divine. Shut your eyes and you’re in your favourite spa. But there's plenty more to explore, with blends designed for different moods and moments, from uplifting morning fragrances to calming evening rituals. The hero fragrance is Deep Relax, a blend featuring vetivert, camomile and sandalwood, designed to complement a relaxing bedtime routine.
Other popular fragrances include Revive, with its fresh, uplifting character, and De-Stress, which is designed to help create a calming atmosphere.
The Pure Essential Oil Blends cost around £32 for 10ml, so they're another expense to consider. But the brand estimates that a 10ml bottle can last approximately 64 days when used for 30 minutes daily on the Standard setting.
Aromatherapy Associates' Master Blender, Luke Taylor, said: “We utilise Nebulising technology, which is essentially waterless diffusion that disperses the pure essential oil directly into the air. This preserves the concentration of the essential oils while filling the space with a refined, spa-like aroma. With dual chambers, the Atomiser Connect also makes it easy to switch between blends based on your mood. My top tip? Select one blend that helps to revive you in the morning, and the other that aids in evening relaxation to create the most bespoke experience possible."
What I don't love about the Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser Connect
There's just one thing stopping me from getting completely carried away on a cloud of fragrant bliss, and that's the £190 price tag.
It's undeniably a luxury purchase, particularly when you factor in the ongoing cost of essential oils.
And although the smart technology and additional features are impressive, not everyone will feel the need for app-controlled fragrance, adjustable lighting or a programmable diffuser.
But the Atomiser Connect offers something beyond simply making a room smell nice. You're paying for a gorgeous design, thoughtful technology and the convenience of enjoying your favourite fragrances without constantly changing bottles or refilling water.
And while I can't pretend £190 is inexpensive, I do think this is the sort of product that would make a fabulous gift for someone who appreciates the finer things in life.
Another consideration is the choice of essential oils. Although you can use blends from other brands, Aromatherapy Associates recommends sticking to its own Pure Essential Oil Blends for the best results and to maintain warranty eligibility.
My verdict
The Aromatherapy Associates Atomiser Connect is one of the best home fragrance devices I’ve tried. I love its beautiful design and the clever dual-chamber system. It’s waterless, portable and intelligent - a game-changer.
If you can waft away any concerns about the price tag and appreciate beautiful home accessories, luxurious fragrances and a little indulgence, I think you’ll love it.
