ITV has released the first images and an action-packed trailer for the fourth series of Trigger Point, teasing bigger explosions, a terrifying new threat and the return of Vicky McClure as bomb disposal expert Lana Washington.

ITV has given fans their first glimpse of the hotly anticipated fourth series of Trigger Point – and it looks set to be the most explosive yet.

The broadcaster has released a batch of first-look images alongside a tense one-minute trailer, teasing another high-stakes mission for bomb disposal officer Lana Washington, played by multi-award-winning actress Vicky McClure.

The new pictures show Lana and her colleagues back in their iconic bomb disposal suits, with one dramatic image capturing the team travelling by boat across the River Thames as they race against time to tackle a deadly threat.

The pulse-pounding trailer opens with Lana asking: "You can't help but think, is this it?... Is this the last one?" before an explosion rips across the screen.

As the action ramps up, viewers are introduced to new guest star Julie Graham, best known for Shetland and Benidorm, who joins the cast as Commander Nia Quentin.

She delivers a chilling warning that the team could be facing "the biggest terror attack this country has seen", as the trailer cuts between frantic bomb disposal scenes, panicked crowds and a countdown clock ticking towards zero.

ITV has confirmed the new series will consist of six episodes, although fans will have to wait a little longer for an exact release date, with the broadcaster only revealing that it is "coming soon."

The drama has become one of ITV's biggest success stories. Its first three series have reportedly been streamed 91 million times and reached more than 20 million viewers across ITV and ITVX.

According to ITV, Trigger Point was the most-watched drama on the channel in 2025 and ranked as the seventh most-watched programme across all broadcasters and streaming services. The latest series premiere attracted 7.4 million viewers, with episodes averaging around seven million.

ITV's Director of Drama, Polly Hill, said: "I am delighted that this thrilling series is returning for its fourth series.

"I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe."

Vicky McClure added: "I love working with the team. We have a great time making the show and I can't wait to continue Lana's journey on Trigger Point."
