I've tested Liz Earle's new Cleanse & Glow Cleansing Balm and my skin looked brighter after just one cleanse

Liz Earle's latest cleansing balm promises brighter-looking skin while removing make-up with ease. I put it to the test to see whether it lives up to the claims.
I've tried enough cleansers over the years to know that "glow" is one of the most overused words in skincare. So I approached Liz Earle's new Cleanse & Glow Brightening Cleansing Balm with a healthy dose of scepticism.
I'm pleased to report that, in this case, it's wholly deserved.
The first thing I noticed was the texture. It's rich enough to feel indulgent, but it melts beautifully over the skin without leaving that heavy, greasy coating that some cleansing balms do. It effortlessly dissolved my make-up, including foundation and water-proof mascara, while making the end-of-day cleanse feel like a proper little ritual rather than another job to tick off.

Add a little water and it transforms into a silky milk that rinses away easily, leaving skin feeling clean rather than squeaky or stripped. Looking at the ingredient list, it's easy to see why it feels more nourishing than many brightening cleansers I've tried. Acerola cherry is included to help boost radiance, while prickly pear seed oil and sea buckthorn add plenty of moisture.
What impressed me most, though, was how my complexion looked afterwards. My skin definitely appeared fresher, smoother and more awake.
The fragrance deserves a mention too. It's fresh, uplifting and spa-like without being overpowering, making those few minutes at the sink feel surprisingly luxurious.
I also like that it's suitable for sensitive skin, as brighter-looking skin shouldn't have to come at the expense of comfort. Mine felt soft and hydrated after every cleanse, with none of the tightness that some brightening products can leave behind.
At £30 it's not a budget buy, but a little goes a long way, so I suspect one jar will last quite some time. The good news is that there are several offers on right now at Boots, including using the code LIZEARLE10 to receive £10 off when you spend £35 on selected Liz Earle poducts. Plus, if you purchase the cleanser from the Liz Earle website you’ll get 3 for 2.
