They say the way to a lover’s stomach is through their stomach - a sentiment that Marks and Spencer clearly agrees with. This Valentine’s Day they’re celebrating with the return of the popular love sausage.

The novelty dish - compromised of heart shaped pork sausages, flavoured with a hint of truffle, lusciously wrapped in smoked streaky bacon - became a hit with foodies up and down the country when it was first released in 2019.

It has become a food-based icon since then, and when it hit the shelves in time for the most romantic day of the year in 2020 and 2021 shoppers were eager to snap it up again.

It’s expected that the tasty banger will be met with similar excitement this year. It’s available to pre-order online right now for just £6.

Add two eggs to the middle and you’ve got the best Valentine’s breakfast for two. No need to cut it ahead of serving either, just put it on one plate in the middle of you both and dig in.
