After delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, eager film lovers will finally get their first look at Robert Pattinson stepping in to the shoes of the famous caped crusader this week when the latest film in the Batman franchise, called The Batman, is released in UK cinemas this Friday 4 March.
The film sees Batman investigate when a killer targets Gotham’s elite. Soon, a trail of cryptic clues sends him on an investigation, pursuing the Riddler.
He uncovers corruption that connects to his own family during the investigation, and is forced to make new allies - including with Catwoman - to catch the Riddler and bring the corrupt to justice.
Franchise film means one thing: tie-in swag. And the merchandise around The Batman is very, very cool.
While the film itself is a 15 certificate, the tie-in toys and merchandise is aimed at all ages. The standard collectibles are there: figurine statues, Funko Pop toys, even a Lego Batmobile in their notoriously tricksy ‘Technic’ range.
