The Power Of Colour: Kate Middleton makes a fashion statement

Meghan Markle spoke publicly about colour and her wardrobe in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. She explained that in their farewell week before the couple stepped back as senior working royals, she started to wear a lot of colour.

“Until that last week in the UK, I rarely wore colour,” Meghan said. She then went on to reveal that this was because “I never wanted to upstage, or ruffle any feathers. So I just tried to blend in.”

It would seem that the issue of ‘colour’ has not prevented Kate Middleton from embracing bolder tones.

On the contrary, and in particular in recent months (perhaps to combat the furore surrounding Prince Harry’s memoir Spare), Kate seems to be embracing colour more and more.

For today’s visit to the Foxcubs Nursery in Luton, Kate Middleton recycled her Massimo Dutti coat and a burnt orange Gabriella Hearst top and skirt.

She accessorised her look with suede boots by Gianvito Rossi, pearl drop earrings by Kiki McDonough, a Stuart Weitzman clutch bag and a Polo Ralph Lauren belt.

Kate Middleton last wore the Gabriella Hearst ensemble when she was in Boston at the beginning of September. Other fans of the brand include Meghan Markle and Angelina Jolie.

Kate was at the Foxcubs Nursery as part of her work to highlight the importance of early childhood development, which she is so passionate about.

In recent months, Kate has worn bold colours on a number of occasions. She wore an eye-catching Solace London vibrant green dress that she rented from Hurr to the Earthshot Prize in Boston.

For a Buckingham Palace reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps, she wore a stunning sparkling red Jenny Packham gown.
