As Prince Harry is now attending the coronation without Meghan, have any of his ‘alleged’ demands been met?

Rewind a couple of months ago and it was all about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s alleged demands before deciding if they were going to attend the King’s coronation. The pair reportedly wanted their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to be involved in the day and they were also said to be keen that they all joined the rest of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Well, fast forward to April 24, and now that Prince Harry has decided to attend the coronation alone, the request for his ‘family to be involved in the proceedings’ can not go ahead, nor can he and Meghan’s original desire for them to join the rest of the royal family on the balcony.

So, have any of other of Prince Harry and Meghan’s previous alleged demands been met when it comes to the coronation? It would appear that when it comes to security, Prince Harry’s ‘demand’ has been met.

Prince Harry was naturally concerned before agreeing to attend the occasion that he will receive the necessary security arrangements. According to The Mirror, “Prince Harry was very rightly concerned about security-and he has got assurances over his safety. Harry has been told he will be protected when attending events with the Royal Family over the Coronation weekend, as he was when returning for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the summer and Her Majesty’s funeral in September.”

Before agreeing to attend the coronation, Prince Harry is also believed to have wanted to have a meeting with both his father King Charles and brother, Prince William. Although a ‘face to face’ meeting has not taken place, King Charles is reported to have spoken to his youngest son (so it would appear that part of his ‘demands’ have been met).

According to The Telegraph, “The Duke of Sussex held peace talks with the King ahead of confirming his plans to attend the Coronation, but he has not spoken with Prince William…”

It is believed however that relations between Prince Harry and Prince Wiliam have not improved at all and it is not expected that the brothers will spend any time together during the coronation.

Although Prince Harry was said to be originally keen on him and Meghan Markle appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony, now that he is attending alone and is said to want to try and make it back for Prince Archie’s fourth birthday celebrations, that ‘demand’ will not be met.

Despite Prince Harry joining his brother and other senior royals for the momentous occasion of his father’s coronation, according to reports, he will not be seated anywhere near them, and might be seated ten rows behind Prince William. The Daily Mail revealed that “Although his position at the Westminster Abbey ceremony may give the impression of a snub, being far back in the audience will also help him if he wishes to make a quick exit”, the ex-royal aide revealed.
