As the mass media pour over Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare, discovering the love life of the Duke of Sussex before his wedding to Meghan Markle, some might be left wondering whatever happened to Trevor Engelson.

Who, you may ask? The US television producer was once married to the future Duchess of Sussex, and his name garnered significant attention once again in 2017 after the engagement between Prince Harry and Meghan was announced.

However, his name hasn’t been brought back into the limelight despite Harry and Meghan making a series of appearances with either their Netflix documentary, Harry’s ITV interview mere days before his book was released and the subsequent publication of the polarising work.

Some might say he’s laying low throughout the firestorm of media both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing amid the mud-slinging between royal family members and the constant stream of new headlines in red header newspapers.

Those would also be correct in thinking that; the 46-year-old has instead continued in his role and found a new love shortly after the nuptials between the Sussexs. He also happens to be taking up a father role now, juggling being a parent alongside his busy life as a producer.

So what is Trevor Engelson currently doing while flying under the radar of the great Harry and Meghan media campaign of 2023?

Where is Trevor Engelson now?

Having managed to avoid most of the media circus surrounding both Prince Harry and Meghan, the former husband of Markle did make an appearance in the 2018 documentary Harry and Meghan: A Windsor Wedding, but aside from that appearance, he has looked to steer clear from his association with the pair.

Instead, Engelson has been concentrating on his production roles for television in the United States, with continued production credits for FX crime drama Snowfall (since 2017) while his attempt to reboot the classic teen black comedy Heathers into a television show fell flat in 2018.

His last production credit was for the 2021 film Small Engine Repair, starring The Wolf of Wall Street and Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal and Boardwalk Empire actor Shea Wigham. Video game enthusiasts may be excited to know, however, that Engelson is currently on board with a Netflix adaptation of Dragon’s Lair.

Based on the cult classic video game first released in 1983, the Netflix title has been rumoured to include Ryan Reynolds in a starring role, with The Hagemen Brothers set to write the screenplay (according to reports back in March 2020.)

But closer to home, Engelson remarried in a low-key ceremony on May 11 2019 to dietician Tracey Kurland - heiress to the multi-million dollar fortunes left behind by her father, investment trust founder Stanford Kurland. The ceremony, held in California, took place a little longer than a week before his former wife, Meghan Markle, was set to marry Prince Harry.

Engelson and Kurland then welcomed two daughters into the world, one born in August 2020 and a second in 2021, named after a royal family member the pair admire. Before you try and guess, the correct answer is Sienna Lee Engleson - named after Princess Beatrice's first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
