All Elite Wrestling made their UK debut last night (August 27 2023) at Wembley Stadium with their “All In” event, making history. The reported number of paid attendees at the event was revealed to be in excess of 81,000 people - the highest number of paid attendees for a wrestling event in history.

However, that feat was overshadowed by reports of a backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry (the son of the late Luke Perry.) Fightful and PWInsider have both posted alternative reports from sources claiming that the two “stepped up” to one another after comments made by Perry during the show.

The comment, made during the pre-show event, saw Jack Perry face the camera and utter the words “It’s real glass, cry me a river,” said to be in response to dirt sheet (wrestling news sheets)  reports that CM Punk had asked Jack Perry not to use real glass during a segment on an AEW television show a week ago. Perry was reported to have been asked to leave Wembley Arena after the altercation.

It marks the second time that CM Punk has been reportedly involved in an altercation at a significant PPV event, after the infamous “Brawl In” conflict between the former UFC competitor and members of The Elite; The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, which led to suspensions for those involved back in 2022.

Aside from that cloud over the event, “All In” proved to be an incredible success, leading some to speculate now that given AEW’s success running a stadium event in the United Kingdom perhaps the WWE might give more consideration to running Wrestlemania 41 in the capital.
