Cricket's newest format has, in effect, thrown a multipack of Mentos into the sport's fizzy-drink bottle, re-energising it in spectacular fashion, and welcoming in a whole new crowd of spectators.
With euphoric atmospheres, stands packed with women and children - rather than just braying middle-aged men in straw boaters, or boozed-up stag dos spending the day inexplicably crafting serpents from plastic cups - and weekend coverage on terrestrial TV, it's hard to find fault with the inclusive, bold new competition.
Sure, the five and ten ball spells take a bit of getting used to, as do the strategic time-outs but, hey, what real harm is it actually doing the sport?
Stand-out moments so far have included Jemimah Rodrigues' dazzling 92 not out for the Northern Superchargers Women, and Welsh Fire Men's captain Jonny Bairstow' s imperious knock against Southern Brave last night, which saw his side make it two wins from two.
As the month-long cricket fiesta heads into its second week, we've come up with a few novel ways The Hundred could take the entertainment factor to the next level:

5. Hat-trick = Instant win
This bold, 'potting the 8-ball' instant result formula would really take things up a notch, and add an enticing dose of jeopardy, too. Manchester Originals Women star Sophie Ecclestone dismissing the first three London Spirit Women batters with her opening trio of deliveries, to win the game, would be an iconic sporting moment for the ages.

6. Mystery legend bowler
At any moment, the floodlights could go out, before a legendary bowler strides onto the field - amid flames and pounding music ala the WWE - to bowl five balls. Picture the chaos as 53-year-old Cathryn Fitzpatrick charges on to let loose for the Oval Invincibles Women, or Freddie Flintoff's appearing, in full Elvis Presley to regalia, to send Old Trafford into hysteria.

7. Crowd catches count
Catching a ball in the crowd is a pretty joyous spectator experience as it is, but just imagine if your one-handed wonder-catch also dismissed Southern Brave Women's Stafanie Taylor on the brink of scoring the winning runs. You'd get your name on the scorecard, too.

8. First ball from fan-guided bowling machine
Another one the purists would surely adore, here. Fans at home enter a ballot, the winner gets to take control of a bowling machine remotely, and unleash the first delivery of each game. Cranking it up to 100mph and getting Trent Rockets Men's Alex Hales out plumb LBW? Yes please!
