Anyone who thought Erik Ten Hag's ongoing troubles with Cristiano Ronaldo might be overshadowed by the arrival of the World Cup has been proved wrong as, on the eve of the tournament in Qatar, the Portuguese superstar has sat down with Piers Morgan to deliver a bombshell interview.

The out-of-sorts Manchester United player, 37, says he feels 'betrayed' and believes the club has made 'zero progress' since the departure of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The five-time Ballon D’or winner returned to Old Trafford last year, 12 years after leaving for Real Madrid and then Juventus.

A preview of the Uncensored Talk TV interview was released on YouTube in which Ronaldo makes several extraordinary claims against Ten Hag and other senior executives.

PeopleWorld takes a look at some of the most explosive statements from Ronaldo as he ‘speaks his truth’ and sees Red.

No Respect for Erik Ten Hag

Ronaldo’s game-time in the 2022 season has slowly diminished, with the footballing star even walking out of Old Trafford before full time in October due to the ‘heat of the moment’ getting to him.

Current manager Ten Hag took over the Premier League side in the summer, but the relationship between the Man United legend and boss has been strained.

Ronaldo said: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t show respect for me, I’m never going to have respect for you.”

Ally in Alex

While Ronaldo, believed by many to be the greatest ever footballer, dropped bombshell comments about his current manager, he also hinted that his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson agrees with his views on the downward trajectory of the club.

Ronaldo stated: “[Ferguson] knows better than anyone that the club is not on the path they deserve to be...the people who don’t see that…they are blind.”

The legendary Scot coached Manchester United for a total of 26 seasons and in that time saw the Red Devils claim 13 English league titles.

Lack of evolution in club

Ronaldo continued to eulogise about the past and pour scorn on the present regime at Old Trafford, slamming the lack of evolution at the club.

He revealed that on his return he found everything was the same - the gym, spa, technology and even the chefs in the kitchen, saying nothing had changed since he was 20-years-old.

Ronaldo believed that there was ‘zero progress’ since Sir Alex had left and he was ‘shocked’.

Rangnick isn’t even a coach

Ronaldo told Morgan: “I have seen no evolution…for example you have the interesting point…they bring sport directive Ralf Rangnick which is something nobody understands.

“This guy is not even a coach, a bigger club like Manchester United bringing in a sports directive surprised not only me, but all the world.”

Rangnick is a German former professional football player who began his coaching career at the age of 25, and is currently coaching the Austrian national team. He was an interim manager at United for six months until May 2022.

Wayne Rooney remarks

When people hear the name Manchester United, two recent club legends spring to mind, Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

However, despite playing for the same team for numerous years and being close in age, Ronaldo has hit back at the Evertonian who said Ronaldo’s behaviour was an ‘unwanted distraction.’

He said: “I don’t know why [Rooney] criticises me so badly. Probably because he finished his career and I am still playing at a high level. I’m not going to say I am better looking than him. Which is true.”
