Could England star Kyle Walker be the front runner to adopt ‘Dave’ the Cat?

During the World Cup, which we're now calling 'Cat-ar' 2022, Kyle told the FA’s Official media channel that "some people really don’t like the cat, but I love him.”

So where is ‘Dave’ the cat right now? Well, after the England team departed from their Al Wakrah hotel base, he first headed to a local veterinary clinic.

He is set to have a blood test and receive vaccinations. ‘Dave’ the cat will then need to spend four months in quarantine before heading to his new home.

Let's hope that Kyle Walker is the footballer who is lucky enough to adopt ‘Dave’ the cat permanently when he is ready to find his ‘forever home’.

If Kyle Walker does decide to adopt ‘Dave’ the cat, he will be in good company as many A-list stars have decided to adopt rescue animals over the years. One big name celebrity who has adopted an animal is heartthrob Chris Evans.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Chris Evans explained that adopting his boxer-mix Dodger in 2017 was ‘the ‘best decision’ of his life. “Dodger was a full-grown dog,” he explained.

“It wasn’t the story I had in my mind but it ended up being the best decision of my life. I just think a lot of adult dogs and older dogs get overlooked and that’s a shame.”

Jennifer Aniston is another big Hollywood name who has adopted a rescue animal. Last year, she celebrated one year since she adopted her dog, ‘Lord Chesterfield’ Isn’t that such a great name?

In 2020, she announced on her Instagram that she had rescued the puppy and revealed that “he stole my heart immediately.”

It would seem that it is not only Hollywood who are keen on adopting animals. Our very own King Charles 111 and Queen Consort are the proud owner of two rescue dogs, Jack Russell Terriers, Beth and Bluebell.

The Queen Consort adopted them in 2017 from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Camilla was made a patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in the same year.
