Ella Toone scored the first goal for England in their semi-final match against Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final

Although the semi-final between England and Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup is far from over, the name everybody is talking about (at the time of writing) is Ella Toone.

In June 2023, Ella Toone posted an emotional goodbye to her fellow England teammate Alessia Russo on TikTok. The pair played together at Manchester United but Alessia left the club at the end of June after her contract expired.

Ella said that “Away from football, I just wanted to say best of luck to my best friend Alessia, moving clubs. I’m really proud of you and hope you smash it. I’m definitely going to miss you and spending time with you every day.”

Ella Toone, who is renowned for her trademark false eyelashes, was first called up to the England U17 squad in 2017. Prior to playing for Manchester United, Ella has also been at Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers.

Ella, who started her youth career at Astley & Tyldesley FC, was born in the town of Tyldesley.  Ella's goal in England's clash with Australia has been described as 'incredible.'

Who is the partner of Ella Toone?

According to The Sun, “Ella is dating former Rochdale, Bolton Wanderers and Grimsby Town footballer Joe Bunney. The couple were pictured last summer enjoying a holiday together in Ibiza.” The Sun went on to say that “Joe is Ella’s biggest cheerleader and he could not have been more proud to watch her lifting the trophy at the Euros.”
