10 bizarre times footballers tried their hand at music - From Hoddle & Waddle to Gazza rapping
Honestly lads, you shouldn’t have bothered...
Tottenham Hotspur completed the loan signing of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta over the weekend, and aside from the Italian's pedigree between the sticks, the most eye-catching detail about the deal is arguably the stopper’s exploits away from the pitch.
You see, Gollini is also a rapper, going by the name ‘Gollorius’. See what he did there?
It’s all pretty impressive actually, and if you came across the 26-year-old’s music before you saw him don his gloves, you'd be forgiven for thinking that music was his day job.
Nonetheless, Gollini’s foray into the world of hip hop got us thinking about other footballers who have swapped their boots for a mic, and we’ve rounded up 10 of the most notable, and most bizarre, for you here.
Click and scroll through the pages below to see who's been top of the pops and who’s been a straight-up flop…

1. Andy Cole - Outstanding
A title that threatens to infringe on all sorts of false advertising regulations, Cole's dabble in the realm of '90s-infused RnB is not the worst thing you'll ever here, but outstanding it is not. (Photo by Gary M.Prior/ALLSPORT) Photo: Gary M. Prior

2. Paul Gascoigne - Geordie Boys
A typically mad cap love letter to his beloved Tyneside, Gazza's technical ability on the mic isn't going to have Jay Z sweating any time soon, but boy oh boy, this is entertaining. (Photo by Simon Bruty/Allsport) Photo: Simon Bruty

3. Ruud Gullit - Not the Dancing Kind
On the evidence of this, Ruud isn't the singing kind either. This reggae-tinged bop is probably meant to invoke the likes of Bob Marley and Toots Hibbert, but instead it falls somewhere between Peter Andre and Mr. Motivator. Find whoever gave this the green light and banish them from the music industry forever. (Photo by Ross Kinnaird /Allsport) Photo: Ross Kinnaird

4. Ian Wright - Do the Right Thing
Now this, this is more like it. A suitably infectious early '90s bop from the Match of the Day pundit, all gold teeth and oversized berets. As well as having a deliciously pun-inflected title, this is a stellar club cut that would have even the most reluctant of dancefloor dwellers tapping their toes.
