Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur postponed due to snow: When will Premier League clash be played?

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur has been postponed.

Shortly before kick-off at Turf Moor it was confirmed that the fixture between Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur would be postponed due to the weather.

It has heavily snowed all day across the country and the thick layer of white across the pitch in Lancashire meant the two sides would have to rearrange their Premier League battle.

The remaining fixtures have gone ahead today, however as the snow continues to fall, the weather is making the football more and more difficult for the players.

Sean Dyche’s side will be frustrated that they are unable to take on the London club today following Spurs’ shock defeat to NS Mura midweek.

When will Burnley v Spurs be played?

The December Christmas period is already extremely busy for Premier League sides and Tottenham Hotspur also have European Conference League and Carabao Cup fixtures to fit in.

The Premier League will have to find a date for Burnley and Spurs to meet again, however it looks very unlikely that that will happen before the new year.

The earliest chance of the rearranged fixture taking place will be after Spurs’ New Year’s Day trip to Watford and Burnley’s match against Manchester United the next day - however, this plan would be scuppered if Antonio Conte’s side are to reach the Carabao Cup semi-final.

If both teams lose their FA Cup third round fixtures in early January then there could be space in February, however if Spurs progress in Europe then they will have to prepare for even more fixtures to play in January.
