Erling Haaland: Man Utd, Chelsea & Man City's odds of signing £150m-rated star

It's been a fair while since there's been a proper, blockbuster summer transfer saga to dig into, but it looks like Erling Haaland could be set to provide a fresh belter at long last.

Up there with Kylian Mbappe as the most coveted young forward in world football, Europe's elite clubs are clamouring to get a piece of the Borussia Dortmund sensation, who's torn the Bundesliga apart with 34 goals in 36 matches since joining the club in 2019.

With the chances of his side qualifying for next season's Champions League in doubt, and a clause in his contract that could see him leave on the (relatively) cheap next year, everything is pointing to the 20-year-old bidding farewell to the Westfalenstadion after just one-and-a-half seasons in the German top tier.

And so, the burning questions is: who is going to emerge triumphant in the race to land the £150m-rated superstar?

Crikey, United fans won't like these odds. Bar the sensational signing of Bruno Fernandes, the club haven't exactly lit up the transfer market in recent seasons, and they're not among the favourites to sign Haaland either. They could well splash the cash on his teammate, Jadon Sancho, instead.

He'd look smashing in that crisp white shirt, it has to be said. Los Blancos have been relentlessly linked with Haaland, who could be just the man to usher in a new dawn at the Bernabeu.

Timo Werner, like many before him, looks to have succumbed Chelsea's notorious striker's curse, and their infamously impatient owner could decide to dig deep and gamble big on Haaland. They'll be right up there, unless they decide to go big on a defender instead.

City are in as second favourites. Aguero is off this summer, and the Citizens need a landmark signing to replace the club icon. They've also been heavily-linked with Harry Kane, but Haaland looks to be Pep Guardiola's favoured option.
