In 2009 he scored the second of Barca’s two goals as they beat Manchester United 2-0 and was on the score sheet again in 2011 when they beat the Red devils 3-1.

His final Champions League win with Barcelona came in 2015 as they beat Juventus 3-1 in the final.

Lionel Messi has scored 120 goals in the Champions League in 149 matches since 2005.

He is second in the all time top scorers list, 14 goals behind Christiano Ronaldo of Manchester United.

Messi made his Champions League debut in the 2004-05 competition and scored his first goal in a 5-0 group stage victory over Greek side Panathinaikos.

Once again, that puts him second in the all time list behind Christiano Ronaldo who has 42.
