The Scots are looking to bounce back from Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Denmark in Copenhagen where an improved second half performance wasn’t enough to prevent them going down 2-0 to the group leaders.

Hampden Park will host the national side for the first time since they went down 3-1 to Croatia at the European Championship finals.

It will be the first qualifier played at Hampden since March when Steve Clarke’s men beat the Faroe Islands 4-0.

Have Scotland played Moldova before?

The two countries have met twice, both times during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup.

The first ever meeting of the two countries came in October 2004, a 1-1 draw in Chisinau.

The one and only previous meeting at Hampden was in June 2005, a 2-0 win for the home side with Christian Dailly and James McFadden on the score sheet.
