But while Man United will want the Canadian - famed for his incredible pace and attacking threat - there is a major obstacle that stands in their way.
The defender’s contract expires at the end of the season, which ordinarily works in a buying club’s favour, but reports indicate that he has his heart set on a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid. It has been rumoured that Davies has already made a verbal agreement with Madrid executives that he will see out his Bayern contract before moving to the Bernabeu in the summer.

This reporter’s admiration of striker Viktor Gyokeres has been well-documented over the past few months. The Sporting CP attacker has some of the best attacking data in European football, having bagged 18 goals and seven assists already this season.
Now, it seems Amorim won’t be the only person heading out the Portuguese club’s door, with Sky’s Florian Plettenberg claiming an agreement has been reached for Gyokeres to leave the club next summer.
Posting on X, he said: “[I have] been told despite a release clause set at €100m, there is an agreement that Viktor Gyokeres can leave Sporting CP next summer for €60-70m. A move in the winter is currently not planned. A transfer in the summer is very likely.
“In England, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are specifically interested in the 26-year-old.”
