In these times of great uncertainty, Tottenham Hotspur completely 'Spursing' up a cup final was perhaps the comforting embrace of normality we all - bar Spurs fans, obviously - needed to experience.

The demoralising defeat book-ended a dramatic week off the field for Spurs, who were embroiled in the European Super League scandal that threatened to change football as we know it, before collapsing like a dodgy souffle within just 48 hours.

On top of all that, they casually sacked Jose Mourinho less than a week before the cup final - which is a bit like telling Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible to do one on the eve of breaking into a CIA high-security vault.
