Phil Brown: Ex-Bolton Wanderers coach set for National League North comeback as Peterborough beckons
Former Bolton Wanderers captain and assistant boss Phil Brown is set to return to management in the National League North.
The 66-year-old has been out of work since leaving Kidderminster Harriers in the summer but is understood to have been offered a job at Peterborough Sports, following the dismissal of Michael Gash and Luke Steele.
Peterborough Sports sit bottom of the National League North after just one win in their opening eight games.
The club, promoted to the National Leagues for the first time in 2022, finished 12th last season.
Brown brings vast experience, with more than 600 games as a manager across spells at Kidderminster, Derby, Hull, Southend, Swindon, and even in India.
He guided Kidderminster close to promotion from National League North last year.
As a player, Brown made over 250 appearances for Bolton across six seasons, captaining the side to promotion and lifting the Sherpa Van Trophy in 1989.
He later returned as assistant to Colin Todd and then Sam Allardyce before striking out on his own in 2005.
