England’s next game in Euro 2024 is just around the corner. On Wednesday evening, the Three Lions will take on The Netherlands in the semi finals of the competition.
In this piece, we’ll take a look at how Gareth Southgate’s men may line up. We’re predicting much of the same - Southgate tends to be stubborn in his team selections, so don’t expect many surprises.
While the switch to three at the back worked (to a certain extent) against Switzerland, it was a change necessitated by circumstance. With Marc Guehi back in the squad to play against the Dutch, it’s likely that Southgate will revert back to his 4-3-3 setup.

9. RW: Bukayo Saka
Saka was England's saviour against the Swiss - he has come under some criticism this tournament, but he should retain his spot nonetheless. Photo: Carl Recine

10. LW: Phil Foden
This may cause some to roll their eyes, but Southgate is not one to tinker with his line-ups. Phil Foden has struggled in the Euros, but we think he'll keep his spot despite this. Photo: Dean Mouhtaropoulos

11. ST: Harry Kane
Kane will probably remain as the lone striker - how he will deal with Virgil van Dijk, Stefan de Vrij and Nathan Ake on his own is anyone's guess. Photo: Bradley Collyer
