After a fortnight away, the Premier League will return to action this weekend with a full round of fixtures that should set the tone for the final leg of a campaign that has been as frantic as it has been bizarre.
But just because there haven’t been any domestic clashes to speak of over the past couple of weeks doesn’t mean that the top flight has gone quiet by any means, and with every passing day there is a fresh batch of transfer rumours to sift through, with whispers ranging from the intriguing to the downright laughable.
