Liverpool knew that they had to get a positive result against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday evening to keep their hopes of Champions League football alive, and with a 4-2 win, they did just that.
But it would appear that the Reds aren’t just content with giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men a bloody nose on the pitch.
A report from the Manchester Evening News suggests that the Anfield giants have opened talks with a Real Madrid player, and that they will look to rival United for his services this summer.
With both clubs in need of rebuilds if they are to catch Manchester City in next season's title race, prepare to see plenty of overlap in the players that they are linked with over the coming months… starting right now.
