Scotland took an early lead through John McGinn as the Aston Villa midfielder powered home from Kieran Tierney’s cut-back, but it was a frustrating opening 45 minutes for the Scots as they struggled to break down the stiff Faroes outfit.

Another early goal just eight minutes into the second half saw Scotland move 2-0 up.

Che Adams and Andy Robertson respectively scored the third and fourth goals of the game.

Kieran Tierney told Sky Sports after the match: “It was a good result, I think we needed that tonight. We needed to win the game and to get a clean sheet so we couldn’t have asked for much more.

“It was the perfect way to end the camp. It’s been a tough camp but probably a successful one so yeah it’s been good.”
