The win was expected, but officially edges the Scottish team closer to the World Cup in Qatar.
After today’s match, Scotland are now in second place behind Group F leaders Denmark. Their next qualifying match will be in September, with the team now looking ahead to this summer’s Euros.
Scotland took an early lead through John McGinn as the Aston Villa midfielder powered home from Kieran Tierney’s cut-back, but it was a frustrating opening 45 minutes for the Scots as they struggled to break down the stiff Faroes outfit.
Another early goal just eight minutes into the second half saw Scotland move 2-0 up.
Che Adams and Andy Robertson respectively scored the third and fourth goals of the game.
Kieran Tierney told Sky Sports after the match: “It was a good result, I think we needed that tonight. We needed to win the game and to get a clean sheet so we couldn’t have asked for much more.
“It was the perfect way to end the camp. It’s been a tough camp but probably a successful one so yeah it’s been good.”
