Tottenham fan video: Returning star the big winner in West Ham friendly but old frailties remain

Tottenham kicked off their first pre-season friendly of the summer with a 3-2 defeat against West Ham, but the result didn’t tell the full story.

Spurs were dominant throughout the match and had 30 attempts on goal, but old defensive frailties proved costly once again as the Hammers scored three goals from just four shots on target in the 90 minutes.

Tottenham fan James Trembath assesses the winners and losers from the contest and explains why, despite defeat, there were plenty of positives, including one or two players previously frozen out staking a claim to force their way into Ange Postecoglou’s squad this season.
