UEFA Champions League: Which Premier League teams are playing tonight and will they be on TV?

The Champions League draw took place on the 26th August and resulted in some exciting ties including Lionel Messi’s trip to his former potential stomping ground when PSG take on Manchester City, as well as a repeat of last season’s Europa League final between Villarreal and Manchester United.

Tonight we kick off the Champions league campaign with eight fixtures that include two Premier League sides. The four English sides competing this year will be hoping they can become the third English side to win the competition in four years - or, in Chelsea’s case, back-to-back wins.

Which teams are competing in the Champions League tonight?

Matchday one will begin with two early kick-offs (17:45 BST) with RB Salzburg travelling to Sevilla, whilst Manchester United take on Young Boys.

The Red Devils previously faced the Swiss side in the group stage during the 2018/19 campaign, winning both ties - scoring four and conceding none.

The fixture will also be Cristiano Ronaldo’s first since his return to England and will be hoping he can replicate his brilliant performance against Newcastle United, where he scored twice.

Chelsea are also playing tonight and will host Zenit Saint Petersburg at 8pm BST.

This will be the first time Thomas Tuchel’s side have faced the Russian champions in a competitive fixture and will be hoping they can continue their unbeaten run in a rather impressive start to the season.
